Industrial Marketing Budgets Grow, Shift Online

By
I seldom blog surveys but I felt this one to be of particular value from Maketingcharts.com. Not for the shift in online marketing, I don’t believe it is a shift as much as just following the market, but because the need to makre sure you allocate your dollars properly. I have seen to many people this year jumping to upgrade their website and SEO optimization without spending the time on what may be needed. Old strategies are not going to work. Don’t just follow the market! Remember, Duct Tape Matters!

Marketers at industrial companies spent a greater portion of their marketing budget online in 2008 than last year, and despite the economic downturn, 38% expect to spend a larger amount this year on marketing as they continue to migrate dollars to online tactics, according to a survey by GlobalSpec .

The quality of leads delivered was considered the most important factor when deciding where to allocate marketing budget, with lead quantity being less important, Globalspec said.
