The Disney Way trumped all podcasts of the year by a fairly large margin. My guest was Bill Capodagli. Bill has three decades of management consulting and corporate research expertise. Bill co-authored the best-selling business book, The Disney Way, 3E: Harnessing the Management Secrets of Disney in Your Company, now in its 3rd edition. The first edition was cited by Fortune magazine as “so useful you may whistle while you work.”

Another successful podcast last year was somewhat of a Disney follow-up The Process of Imagineering. Lou Prosperi was my guest and we discussed his book, The Imagineering Pyramid: Using Disney Theme Park Design Principles to Develop and Promote Your Creative Ideas. Lou’s book outlines 15 practices and principles that will enable you to make your project a Disney production.

One of my best blog posts of the year was along the same line where I highlighted my Disney podcasts and blog posts over the last few years. You can read and download the ebook: Business901 Disney Collection Revised.
This year, I also made an effort to start using video more in my podcast and blog. My YouTube channel though quite old is really in its infancy as far as the use of it. But try it out and subscribe. The video series of the year was an interview that I did with John Latham. John Latham combines experience and research to create flexible frameworks that facilitate the process of reimagining, redesigning, and transforming organizations. Some of the frameworks such as the Design Framework for Organization Architects™ emerged from practice and later tested and refined. Others emerged from research and further developed in practice such as the CEO research that led to the Leadership Framework for Organization Architects™. These two award-winning, peer-reviewed frameworks form the foundation of the Organization Design Studio™ was founded to provide a virtual space for organization architects to learn how to (re)create the organization they really want!™. John also recently authored a book, [Re]Create the Organization You Really Want!: Leadership and Organization Design for Sustainable Excellence.

One other addition to this year’s collection is a personal favorite of mine that happened to also be on Systems Thinking. It was with John Shibley. John Shibley was a founder of the Society for Organizational Learning and has published articles on systems dynamics, collaboration and consulting practice, and enjoys mentoring emerging organizational development consultants. John Shibley has 30 years of experience leading complex organizational improvement efforts in a variety of industries, sectors, and settings. His practice focuses on the intersection of strategy, innovation and organizational learning. He is a flexible and imaginative consultant with a history of working successfully with a variety of clients and for moving nimbly between theory and practice, reflection and decision-making. John lives in Maine with his wife and a lot of guitars.
