Sometimes there is nothing like squawking a little bit to learn something. You just need to know to keep quiet, listen and take your lumps. I have just done that, read my recent post on Constant Contact, Evangelist to Ex-Customer .
But the learning is what I wanted to focus on. Jamie e-mailed back from the TQM network and really focused in on how she handled her contact list. Also, Jenna from Vertical Response took the high road and offered me several suggestions and referenced a recent blog titled How to e-mail old contacts in a new year. It is a great blog post and in today’s world as more and more people turn to online marketing well worth the read. Not only for marketers but as a reference tool as you bring new customers on.
One other important part to this follow-up is that the head of compliance from Constant Contact called and took the high road and apologized. Even though I was in the wrong, he accepted that they could have handled the situation better. My hat is off to that individual.
