Everyone is beating up on Print Media

I have been reading post after post about print media outlets closPicture21 ing and what they need to do about it. It seems like it is never ending and everyone has an opinion. Even Me!

So, here I go to voice and give an opinion:

Start using direct targeted pieces more.
Use ads with codes , phone numbers to track results as part of the ad cost.
Charge advertisers on a formula similar to a pay per click type arrangement.
Editorial staff should all blog .
Staff should participate in the social media as part of their job.

Educate ad reps about the Internet and the complimentary role print can play.

Invite more dialog from consumers and add local opinions on national stories more often.

That is my quick list, but to read a few more opinions on print media that I value. They all have recently commented on the subject.

But with that being said, I still enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning with a newspaper. Don’t you?

  1. I often read the paper, but its importance has diminished in my life and the lives of others due to the limitations of press deadlines compared to the alternatives of 24 hour news sources found in electronic media (including the internet).

    Thanks for the plug Joe!
